While in Raleigh last month Julie and I got to review final projects for students in NC State’s Graphic Design Program. The class was led by Santiago Piedrafita, an old professor of mine back at MCAD, and now the Head of Graphic Design at NC State. Their project was to perform a user experience audit of the North Carolina History Museum and then provide design solutions to improve and enhance the museum experience. The projects ranged from interactive in the museum space to collaborative web sites to systems design. It was really great to see students studying interpretive spaces and coming up with the diversity of approaches to problems that we face every day.
